It's called Katsudon.

Ramen exist in several different kinds and each of them is on their own way very delicious! It's basically noodles inside a soup covered with different toppings. Gyoza or dumblings. This are super delicious small buns filled with pork and some vegetables. Actually there are several ways to prepare them. Boiled, Fried or deep fried. Also there are Gyoza with cheese stuffing. Super tasty. There is also a small restaurant near Akihabara called "Warashibe" which serves this big plate with a lot of cheese in the middle to dip it!!

When you go for Sukiyaki you will find yourself at the table and the waiter will bring you in the first place some raw meat and an assortment of vegetables. Additional comes a big pot in which later the meat and the vegetables together with an unbelievable tasty sauce get cooked. Usually the waiter will put the ingredients into the pot. Sukiyaki is a pricey Japanese Hot Pot but different to the Shabu Shabu more intensive. Recommendation in Osaka is the restaurant Kisoji in Shinsaibashi next to the famous Namba.

Shabu Shabu is the Japanese answer to Chinese hot pot. Compares to the Japanese dish Sukiyaki the different to Shabu Shabu is the sauce you brew it in. In Shabu Shabu it's normal cooking water in a pot in which you will dip the ingredients like meat and vegetables. After cooking it for some seconds you can take the meat or vegetable and dip it into the sesame or ponsu (sour soy sauce) sauce. Recommendation check out the website.

Kushi Katsu is original from Osaka and means deep fry everything you find! It's a wonderful tasty high carb way for Izakaya. It's fun to eat the skewer with for example garlic, asparagus, mushrooms or sausage while drinking a beer or highball. You will find tons of Kushi Katsu places everywhere over Japan. Even the skewers start from 100 yen you will be surprised about the bill in the end. Probably also be aware of a table charge what is also common in Izakayas and are around 300 yen per person.

Okonimiyaki is a Japanese savory pancake. It contains several different ingredients like cabbage, meat, eggs and what ever you choose. Topped with a special brown sauce and fish flakes which are moving!! It's a fried dish and very delicious. There are depending in which area in Japan you are different versions of Okonomiyaki.
