Leaving the Ebisucho station (Exit 3) you are in "Shinsekai" which means "New World". In Shinsekai you'll find the Osaka Tower and Ebisuhigashi what is famous for its restaurant.

Osaka is among other dishes famous in Japan for "Kushi Katsu". Kushi Katsu is basically simple. You get vegetables, meat or mochi deep fried on a skewer. Sounds simple but is very delicious. Shinsekai in Ebisuhigashi is a super spot to try it. As the "Kushi Katsu" consists of a lot of small dishes it is worth it to go to an All-you-can-eat restaurant.
3. Nipponbashi

The Sakai-Suji Street is the connector of the Shinsekai and the Namba district and is the main street in Nipponbashi. Along the street you can find several electronic stores, interesting restaurant and some anime stores which are just the precursor of the nearby Anime Town (Denden town).

The "Anime Town" contains everything what an "Otaku" needs and loves. "Otaku" is a Japanese world and describes a person who loves Anime, Manga, Games, etc. It's the ultimate chance to take a look into this scene.

Welcome to the brightest district in Japan - Namba! Find here next to the Namba station the Toho Cinemas and several malls. It's a large area full with shiny advertisement and shops.

Shrill, fancy, colorful - The amuse district "Namba". Find here, in a large area, tons of restaurants, shops, Pachinko's and Izakaya's congregate under a continuous roof. This makes it to a top places even on a rainy day! In this maze of shopping streets it's easy to get lost. Prepare yourself!
7. Dotonbori (Food street)

The food street of Dotonbori in the end of Namba is the beginning of the Dotonbori area. You'll find here like in Namba several restaurants, food stands and shops. Different to Namba this part is open-air. Famous here are the Takoyaki (Octopus balls).

Another highlight in this area and the top photo spot is the Ebisu Bridge. It's the center of Dotonbori and connects Shinsaibashi with Namba. Impressive large advertisements cover the surrounding buildings. Along the Dotonbori River you can see the insane building of the Don Quijote of Osaka with a Ferris wheel on top of the building.

Shinsaibashi actually continues like Namba and Dotonbori with tons of shops (again under a roof). If you leave the shopping street of Shinsaibashi you can find the world biggest Louis Vuitton building what was just finished end of 2019. To find it on the main street of Shinsaibashi called Mido-Suji.
10. Amemura

The hip-hop scene area next to Shinsaibashi. It's like a small village with a lot of hip-hop street art and fashion stores. There are also a couple of food stores in this idyllic scene spot and worth it to discover.
Transfer To Osaka Castle

Walk to the Shinsaibashi Metro Station and take the Nagahoritsurumiryokuchi line (green) to Nomimoria station.
11. Osaka Castle

Take the exit for the Osaka Castle and you will be right inside the park. There is no entry fee for the park. Walk around 15 mins to reach the Castle. The entry is free for children under 15 (ID required). For more infos check the website.
Transfer To Umeda (Higashi-Umeda Station)

Walk to the Tanimachiyonchome Metro Station and take the Tanimachi line (purple) to Higashi-Umeda Station.

The Umeda area is full of huge malls and giant buildings. It's a maze of possible ways on the top or even underground. To come to the Umeda Sky Building take the exit number 8 so you'll be able to catch the sky walk.

To visit the Kuchu-Teien Observatory in 170 m you have to go to the Umeda Sky Building near the Umeda Station. For the entry fee you'll have a wonderful 360-degrees view above Osaka and surroundings. Small highlights here are the two escalators in 170 m high and the rooftop.
